The Veloevolyutsiya Association is organizing, on the 4th of June 2010 (Friday), an official biking event under the motto: “Style and Fashion do not mean the opposite of clean and practical”. The purpose is to show people that they can leave their cars at home and ride their bikes to work.
The event will start at 17:30 on Aleksander Nevski Square, Sofia. From there, the bikers will ride on the following streets (closed and secured for this event): Rakovski, Knyazhevo, Fridtjof Nansen, Evlogi Georgiev. The finish point will be in front of the Soviet Army memorial. You can check the route here. For RSVP please check the official Facebook page for the event.
The main sponsor is MAPEI, and the event is organized with the support of Sofia Municipality, Center for Urban Mobility, Event Sofia, Drag bikes, Devin, as well as the media partner bTV.
We strongly encourage you take your bike and join us. It will be an important moment to show Sofia’s municipality that people are willing to change their commuting habits and to become greener. For that we need more bike paths and traffic discipline.
